Terms of service
Last updated: 15 October 2026
These terms apply when you install or use PayGate, a Shopify app ("the app") made by Vexous Labs ("we", "us"). By installing the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't install or use the app.
1. The service
PayGate lets you create rules that hide, rename and reorder the payment and shipping methods shown at your store's checkout, and rules that block checkout with a message. The rules run as Shopify Functions inside Shopify's checkout. The features are described on our features page and in the documentation.
2. Plans, trial and billing
- The Free plan includes 1 active rule. The Premium plan includes unlimited active rules, at the price shown on our pricing page when you subscribe.
- Charges are made by Shopify on your Shopify invoice, monthly or yearly. Premium starts with a 14-day free trial; Shopify tracks the trial per store, so reinstalling doesn't start a new one.
- You can change plans at any time, or cancel by uninstalling the app. Charges already made are not refunded, except where the law requires it or we decide otherwise.
- If we change a price, the new price applies to you only after you approve it in Shopify.
3. Your rules
- You decide which rules to create and switch on, and you're responsible for how they affect your checkout, your customers and your sales. Check rules with Test this rule or the preview before making them active.
- PayGate includes safeguards, such as never hiding every payment or shipping method, but it can't know your business. For example, a rule you create may hide a payment method a customer wanted to use.
- Rules depend on what Shopify provides at checkout and on Shopify's limits, described in the documentation. Shopify may change these, and we'll update the app when it does.
4. Your responsibilities
- Use the app in line with Shopify's terms and the laws that apply to your store, including consumer protection laws.
- Make sure the payment and shipping methods you offer, and the messages you show customers, are accurate and lawful.
- Keep your Shopify account and staff access secure.
5. Your data
Your rules are saved in your Shopify store. We hold only what we need to run the app, as described in our privacy policy.
6. Shopify and other services
The app works with Shopify and uses the service providers listed in our privacy policy. They are run by other companies under their own terms, and we're not responsible for their services.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the app available and correct, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted or free of errors. If a checkout rule can't run, checkout isn't blocked. We may improve, change or remove features, and will tell you in the app or in the changelog about changes that significantly affect you.
8. Liability
The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost sales, profits or data, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
9. Ending use
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it; its rules stop running at checkout. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously broken, or if Shopify or the law requires it. What happens to your data is explained in the privacy policy.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and tell you in the app or by email before a significant change takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, without affecting rights you have under the laws of your own country.
